What FOOLISHNESS we live in.
What FOOLISHNESS I’ve lived in for the past 19 years of my life.

What FOOLISHNESS, FOOLISHNESS, FOOLISHNESS.

God is a god of HOLINESS. Do we even know what that means?
Do we live with the weight of His HOLINESS everyday?
Do we weep over the souls that do not believe or even the LUKEWARM souls that roam around in churches every sunday?

Or do we find ourselves too focused on the grades we will receive this quarter?
Are we too busy focusing on how we look with the clothes we wear, the makeup we put on, the hair we do every morning?
Are we too preoccupied with our own FLESHLY needs and desires that we are completely oblivious or ignorant of the souls that are crying out to be heard?

This morning, I found myself unworthy to take a shower. I found myself unworthy to wear nice clothes. I even found myself unworthy to pee in a toilet.
There are people, CHRISTIANS, who are in Russia, China, North Korea being tortured for years and years because of their faith and devotion to the Holy God. Getting shot in the head is easy compared to ligaments that are getting chopped off, eyes getting gouged out, fingernails that are getting ripped off. Getting your head chopped off instantly is so much easier than getting raped over and over again or having to swallow spoonfuls of salt with no provision of water or food.

Getting killed is nothing compared to years of getting tortured.
Years with only a moldy piece of bread a week. Years with no showers or bathrooms to do our business in. Years with constant beatings and whippings that leave people on the verge of death.

After knowing this, can we still go about our days in our BMW’s and walk around in our fancy clothes? I cannot even consider my sweats and baggy shirts to be worthy of wearing!

“But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them RUBBISH, that I may gain CHRIST, and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.” (Philippians 3:7-11)

Who are WE as “Christians”, living in America, to have the AUDACITY to say we have horrible lives? Who are WE to complain about our boyfriends/girlfriends? Who are WE to spend hundreds of dollars every month on materialistic possessions? Who are WE to even have water, let alone showers, to shower in or toilets that flush away our stuff so that we don’t have to deal with the stench of it?

Christians in Communist nations yearn for a PAGE of the Bible while we, American “Christians”, have extra Bibles collecting dust in our homes.

What FOOLISHNESS we live in.

I don’t write this because I think I am better or because I consider myself “holy”. I am FAR from the holiness that God calls ALL OF US TO BE IN.

I simply write this to remind myself as well as all of you to WAKE UP.
Let the magnitude of God’s HOLINESS be upon all of us so that we don’t live our lives in oblivion but rather in complete awareness of the death that Christ suffered for OUR sins.

Faith is not faith unless we are willing to die for it.

Are we willing to get battered and bruised and tortured and maimed for Christ? Or do you think that martyrdom does not exist present day?

Whether or not we are called to be martyred, we must all have it in mind that we WILL be persecuted and be in suffering for the Gospel.

Jesus, create a burning a desire within my heart for the souls that do not know the truth of your living Gospel. Kill my flesh—spiritually or even physically—so that my WHOLE being praises and worships the HOLY HOLY HOLY God.

“If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will save it.” (Luke 9:23-24)

Offended? Convicted? Praise God!
“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:18)

Wake up, oh you who are asleep, LET US WAKE UP!

“For, as I have often told you before and now say again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.” (Philippians 3:18-21)
