wholly surrendered to You
Over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament were fulfilled by only one man in the New Testament.
The son of Abraham, the son of King David.
The Messiah to be born out of a lineage of sinners, full of adulterers, prostitutes, Gentiles, etc.
The son who was led to the slaughter like a lamb, silent before his accusers.
The son who was to be mocked, despised, whipped, and beaten.
The Messiah to be nailed onto a tree.
The Messiah to be pierced for man’s inequities and transgressions.
The man who bore no sin, yet took the cup of wrath in obedience.
The man who becomes the final priest, prophet, king, intercessor, and judge.
There is nothing beyond Christ crucified.
No other cultic leader, false prophet, or god fulfilled all three hundred+ prophecies.
Jesus Christ is the son, the Messiah, the blameless sacrifice who hung on the Cross for all our sins. The Cross is not a modern day, clean and manufactured cross that gets hung up on sanctuary podiums and walls or worn around our necks. Instead, the Cross is the Cross that is drenched in Jesus’ blood and sweat with pieces of His flesh and bone stuck to it.
Because of our sins, He was hung up on that Cross.
Because of us, God poured the cup of inequity on His perfect and sinless body.
There is nothing beyond Christ crucified.
Therefore, let us cling onto the beautiful Cross ever so tightly. Let us cling so hard that the smell of His blood, sweat, tears, flesh and bone will be the fragrance that we long to live with for the rest of our lives.
